Inspecting the Cellar Walkthrough
The Catacombs are not one puzzle. Solving the three clocks is only part of the Gateway requirement — tools, Timepieces and several item chains must also be complete.

Catacombs Quick Checklist
To finish the Catacombs, solve all three clocks, place the Bronze, Silver and Gold Timepieces, complete the required tool and weight routes, then open the Gateway. The Timepieces do not require one fixed statue order.
1. Explore the Cellar
Inspect the cellar and Catacombs before focusing on the clocks. Several later interactions depend on tools and items collected from the surrounding routes.

2. Collect and Use the Catacombs Tools
Having collected a tool does not necessarily mean its route is complete. Some tools must progress through more than one use.

3. Complete the Weight Puzzle
WEIGHT ROUTE

↓Route complete
The Weight route uses both the Weight and the Weight Hook. Do not bury them in a general tool list — the mechanism needs both parts.

3/3 clocks does not mean the Gateway is ready.
These same three clock settings are reused later during The Departure on Day 3.
Place All Three Timepieces
Does the statue order matter?
There is no required Bronze / Silver / Gold statue order. Each Timepiece only needs to be placed into a valid statue position. You do not need one fixed Bronze → Lady, Silver → Bird, Gold → Cube combination.
Bronze Timepiece
Silver Timepiece
Gold Timepiece
Does the statue order matter?
No. All three Timepieces must be placed, but the game does not require one fixed Bronze / Silver / Gold permutation.

Other Catacombs Routes
These side interactions support the tool and access routes. They are not a separate ending.
▸ Chest
Inspect the chest area as part of the surrounding tool and access routes. A more precise furniture map is not published yet.
▸ Barrel / Rock
The barrel and rock interactions sit on the oil / hammer side of the cellar. Finish the uses rather than treating a single pickup as the whole route.
▸ Oil
The oil bottle is an access tool. Collecting it is not the same as finishing the oil chain.
▸ Torch
The torch also has a progression beyond pickup. Use it until the route no longer asks for it.

Day 3 · Looking for the Cat →Day 3 →Back to Day 2 WalkthroughCatacombs FAQ
01Why won't the Catacombs Gateway open?
Because the clocks are only one part of the requirement. Check the Timepieces, tools, weight mechanism and remaining item chains.
02Do the Bronze, Silver and Gold Timepieces have a fixed statue order?
No. All three need to be placed, but there is no required fixed permutation.
03Are all three clocks required?
Yes. Bronze, Silver and Gold must all be solved.
04I solved all three clocks. Why did nothing happen?
Check whether all three Timepieces are placed and whether the remaining tool / access routes are complete.
05Does picking up the Corkscrew mean its route is finished?
Not necessarily. The Corkscrew can require more than one progression state / use.
06Do I need the Weight Hook?
The Weight route uses both the Weight and Weight Hook as part of its mechanism.
07Are the clock settings used again later?
Yes. The same three clock targets return during The Departure on Day 3.
